Ajinomoto Stadium


FC Tokyo is a professional soccer team based in Tokyo, Japan.
They are one of the 18 teams in the 1st division of "J-League," the professional soccer league of Japan.



This is Tobitakyu Station, where "Ajinomoto Stadium," the home of FC Tokyo is located.

Tobitakyu Station is one of the train stations of the Keio Line. It is located about 20 minutes from Shinjuku Station, a major train station in Tokyo.

You can see the blue/red flags of FC Tokyo, as well as the Green/White flags of Tokyo Verdy, another team which uses the Ajinomoto Stadium as their home stadium. Tokyo Verdy currently plays in the 2nd division of J-League.




After going through the ticket gate, go to the right exit.



Then, go down the stairs and turn right.





You can see the blue and red covers on the poles.



From here you just go straight.




This is "Sukiya," a beef bowl chain store.
Even the beef bowl restaurant is colored in FC Tokyo colors.




Keep going straight.



Go up the stairs.




You will see Ajinomoto Stadium!









Ajinomoto Stadium was built in 2001, and has been used as the home stadium of FC Tokyo and Tokyo Verdy. The stadium is also sometimes used for other events and concerts.
Unfortunately for soccer fans, the stadium has a running track around the soccer field.

FC Tokyo played Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a team based in Hiroshima.
Sanfrecce one of the "original 10" teams since the establishment of J-League in 1993.
They won the title in 2012, 2012, and 2015, and has been consistently strong despite having main players taken from other teams.

In this game FC Tokyo won 1-0 with a goal by Yuichi Maruyama.
